French composer and ornithologist Olivier Messiaen’s exquisite work, comprising thirteen solo piano pieces, each named for a different bird, will be performed in its entirety throughout the day on the hour by a cast of pianists, with a culminating hour-long concert given by the acclaimed soloist Taka Kigawa at 6:30 pm. Following the concert, philosopher Simon Critchley and Museum ornithologist Paul Sweet will lead a discussion and Q&A. RSVP for Taka Kigawa's evening performance here
