French composer and ornithologist Olivier Messiaen’s exquisite work, comprising thirteen solo piano pieces, each named for a different bird, will be performed in its entirety throughout the day on the hour by a cast of pianists, with a culminating hour-long concert given by the acclaimed soloist Taka Kigawa at 6:30 pm. Following the concert, philosopher Simon Critchley and Museum ornithologist Paul Sweet will lead a discussion and Q&A. RSVP for Taka Kigawa's evening performance here. 

RSVPs are now closed. For drop-in spaces, please check in 15 minutes prior to the start time at the Information Desk, Main Security, located on Central Park West at 79th Street, accessible via the driveway on either side of the main Museum steps.
